This guide is intended for Teaching Institution (TI) Course Upload Administrators (CUAs) responsible for uploading and managing courses and sections in Acadeum Course Share (ACS).
ACS provides multiple template types depending on whether or not your course information already exists in the system. Using the correct template allows you to upload brand new courses, update existing courses and/or their sections, and reopen sections to accept additional enrollment requests without re-entering static course information.

Choosing the Correct Template
ACS provides three main template options: Courses & Sections, Sections (Only), and Courses (Only). Selecting the correct template depends on whether or not the course already exists in ACS and what you need to update.
ACS uses a Course ID (equivalent to the Course Code in ACS) as the unique identifier for each course. If the Course ID already exists, the course has been previously uploaded and you do not need to re-enter the description, credits, prerequisites, or syllabus link.
Each Course Code serves as an “umbrella” for its Sections. Sections represent specific instances of course offerings, including dates and modality.
Use the table below to select the right template for your task:

| Courses & Sections | Use this template for first-time uploads of courses and sections, or when the course does not yet exist in ACS. It can also be used to make batch updates to existing course information (such as titles, descriptions, and categories) while simultaneously uploading sections for the new term. |
| Sections | Use this template to update existing information at the section level (e.g., adding new terms, updating section details, or reopening sections for existing courses in ACS). |
| Courses | Use this template to update existing information at the course level (e.g., syllabus link, description) without adding new sections in ACS. |

Courses & Sections Template
Use this template when uploading new courses that do not already exist in ACS. This template creates or updates both course and section information. See Teaching Institution: Course Upload Template for more information.
Ideal for:
First-time uploads
Major revisions to course data
Sections Template
The template allows you to create, update, or reopen sections for courses that already have course information stored in ACS.
Because course descriptions, syllabus links, credits, and prerequisites are already saved, this template focuses only on section-specific details.

Ideal for:
Uploading new sections for an upcoming term
Reopening sections where the add date has passed
Making bulk updates to section dates, schedules, or costs
Editing multiple sections at once without re-entering course data
Note: This template will only validate if the Course ID has been previously uploaded in ACS. If the Course ID is new, use the Courses & Sections Template.
Courses Template
This template is used to create new or update existing courses without specifying any sections. Use this template when you need to update course information only (no sections).
Ideal for:
Updating existing course description
Updating existing syllabus links, prerequisites, course category, etc.
Downloading Blank Templates
Course Upload Administrators (CUAs) can download the exact template they need directly from ACS.
Steps to Download
Log into ACS
Click the Courses tab on the left navigation pane
Click +Upload Course
Select Upload Course Details File, then click Next
Click Download Template
Select the Template you wish to download and click Download
Using Pre-Filled Templates
Pre-filled templates allow you to download your existing course or section data directly from ACS into a ready-to-use spreadsheet. This lets you update section information or prepare upcoming terms without re-entering static course details such as descriptions, credits, prerequisites, or syllabus links.
Pre-Filled Courses Template
This template lets you download your existing course data directly from ACS so you can add section details without re-entering static information.
Steps to Download
Log into ACS
Click the Courses tab on the left navigation pane (Image 2)

Select My Teaching Courses (Image 3)
Ensure the Consortial toggle is OFF
Select the Courses tab (Image 4)
Use filters (Term, Course Level, etc.) to refine which courses or sections to include (Image 5)
Click Download (Image 6)
Once you've downloaded the template, you now include all of the section-specific information on the Excel spreadsheet. Complete the section fields in the spreadsheet, then upload normally. See Uploading Your Completed Template for details.
Pre-Filled Sections Template
This allows you to download all past, current, and future section data into a shortened Section-Only template.
This shortened template allows you to make bulk updates to section information such as dates, schedules, and course costs — without re-entering course descriptions, credits, prerequisites, or syllabus links.
Ideal for:
Bulk date edits
Bulk cost edits
Reopening sections
Adding upcoming terms

Steps to Download
Log into ACS
Click the Courses tab on the left navigation pane (Image 2)

Select My Teaching Courses (Image 3)
Ensure the Consortial toggle is OFF

Select the SECTIONS tab (Image 4)
- This will show all sections that are currently open for enrollment. If no sections are present here, then no sections are open for accepting enrollments.
Use More Filters (i.e. Past Sections, etc.) to refine which sections to include (Image 5)
Click Download (Image 6)
Uploading Your Completed Template
Once your template is updated, you can upload it to ACS to update course and section information in bulk.
Steps to Upload
Log into ACS
Click the Courses tab on the left navigation pane
Click +Upload Course
Select Upload Course Details File, then click Next
Drag & Drop or Browse a File to add your completed template, then click NEXT
Toggle on any Advanced Settings if applicable and click Upload
Note: : Section-Only templates validate only for existing Course IDs. If the Course ID is new, use the Courses & Sections Template.
