Uploading New Sections
Use this process when adding new sections for a future term. You do not need a pre-filled template for new sections.
- Download a Blank Sections Template. (See Downloading Blank Templates for instructions.)
- Enter the existing Course IDs
- Add the section details
- Save and upload via the standard process. (See Uploading Your Completed Template for instructions.)
Updating Existing Open Sections
If you need to correct or update currently open sections (e.g., incorrect start date or cost):
- Click Courses on the left navigation pane
- Select the My Teaching Courses tab
- Select the Sections tab
- Use filter if needed. Then, select Download to generate a Pre-Filled Sections template.
- Edit the necessary fields in the spreadsheet (dates, schedule, cost, etc.)
- Save and re-upload via the standard process. (See Uploading Your Completed Template for instructions.)
This ensures you are editing the exact section data currently stored in ACS.
Re-Opening Sections
If the Add Date has passed and you need to make the section available again:
- Click Courses on the left navigation pane
- Select the My Teaching Courses tab
- Select the Sections tab
- Click More Filters and select Past Sections
- Click Download for a Pre-Filled Sections Template
- Update the Add Date (and any other relevant information)
- Save and re-upload via the standard process. (See Uploading Your Completed Template for details.)
Deactivating Sections
Simply deleting a row from your spreadsheet and re-uploading will not remove the section from ACS. You must explicitly change the status.
To deactivate sections:
Download a Pre-Filled Sections Template containing the sections you wish to remove
Locate the Active column
Change the value to =FALSE for all sections you wish to deactivate
- Save and re-upload via the standard process (See Uploading Your Completed Template for details.)
