Before a student can be enrolled in a course, that course must be both Mapped and Approved within the Acadeum Course Share (ACS) platform. Mapping creates a link between the Teaching Institution's course and your institution’s equivalent, while Approval makes the course eligible for enrollment. This guide covers how to handle individual courses, bulk requests, and the optional scheduling of course visibility.

User Permissions
Only specific administrative roles have the authority to manage the mapping and approval process:
- Institutional Administrators
- Enrolling Administrators
Users with other roles can view courses but will not see the "Approve Course" options. Learn more about roles and permissions here.
Individual Mapping and Approval
You can map and approve a course at any time from the main course directory, or during the enrollment process if the course has not yet been set up.
- Navigate to the All Acadeum Courses page (Image 1)

- Click See Details on the course you want to approve (Image 3)

(Optional) Configure the Schedule settings if you wish to restrict visibility (Image A above)
- While a course can be designated as Approved, you can use the Schedule area to restrict course sections from being visible to students in your Student App. Use this option if you want the course to only be available to your students during specific terms.

Scheduling Course Visibility
While an administrator can see all approved courses on the ACS website, the Schedule feature allows you to control exactly what your students see in the ACS Student App.
- Standard Approval: If a course is approved without specific scheduling, all sections are potentially visible
- Scheduled Approval: Use the Schedule area to restrict visibility to specific terms or sessions
- Purpose: This is ideal for ensuring students only see options that align with your institution's upcoming academic calendar
Bulk Mapping and Approval Requests
If you need to approve a broad list of courses (10 or more), Acadeum recommends the bulk mapping process to save time.
- Efficiency: Eliminates the need to map courses one by one
- Automatic Scheduling: Note that the bulk option will automatically schedule all sections of the mapped courses
- Next Steps: To initiate a bulk request, contact your Acadeum Account Representative or Partner Success Manager
