Identifying the right course section is the first step toward enrolling a student. The Course Catalog> All Acadeum Courses page in Acadeum Course Share (ACS) serves as the central directory for all available sections and courses offered by Teaching Institutions (TIs) across the network.

Manual Search Methods: Sections vs. Courses
When using the global search box (Image C), you can toggle your results view between Sections and Courses. Understanding the difference is critical for finding active enrollment opportunities.
- Sections Tab: This lists every individual offering separately. For example, if "MATH110" is offered in both Fall and Winter, it will appear as two distinct entries.
- Courses Tab: This groups offerings by the course itself. You must click into a course card to see available terms and sections. Note that some courses may be listed even if they do not currently have an active section available for enrollment.
Filtering Search Results
The Filter menu allows you to narrow down thousands of offerings into a manageable list based on your institution's specific requirements.
Tip: You can combine multiple filters (e.g., "Consortial" + "No Prerequisites" + "Summer 2026") to find the exact seat your student needs.
Saving Filter Presets
To save time, you can create presets for frequently used filter combinations. Different presets can be saved for various enrollment purposes or specific student needs.
- Select your desired filter options from the Filters menu
- Click the Save Search button
- In the Save search window, type a descriptive name for this filter preset
- Click Save
Your saved presets will appear as tabs above the filter section for easy access in the future.
Note: Saved filters are distinct between All Acadeum Courses and My Teaching Courses, and between Sections and Courses views. This allows for granular searches tailored to each specific view.
Available Filter Criteria
Use these primary toggles and categories to refine your search:
Network & Accreditation
-
Approved: View only courses your institution has already mapped and approved for credit
- Tip: Automate Your Approved List You can use AI-powered recommendations to bulk-approve courses instead of searching for them one-by-one. See our guide on Course Equivalencies Management to learn how to identify and approve strong in-network matches automatically.
- Consortial: Limits results to Teaching Institutions within your specific consortial agreements
-
Regionally Accredited: Filters for TIs with regional accreditation
- Note: Most TIs in the network are institutionally accredited
- Has Faculty Credentials: View only courses where faculty CVs/credentials are pre-uploaded for your review
Academic Specifics
- Course Level: Filter by Undergraduate or Graduate levels
- Credit Hours: Filter by the number of credits. Note that TI credits may differ from your institution's credit values; always verify your internal mapping.
- No Prerequisites: Quickly find courses that do not require previous coursework
- Categories: Narrow results by subject matter, such as Accounting, Computer Science, or Criminal Justice
Logistics & Timing
- Term & Session: Filter by specific academic periods or shorter sessions within a term
- Start & End Dates: Search for courses that fit within a student’s specific window of availability
- LMS: If your students are only trained on a specific platform, filter by the Learning Management System used by the TI (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard)
Institutional Details
- Price: Use the slider to find courses within your budget. This reflects the cost of the course to the Home Institution per enrollment; the price you charge your student/s per enrollment may differ.
- Affiliations: Search by religious, gender-based, or system-based institutional affiliations
What to do if a Course is Not Found
If your search and filtering do not return the required course, do not assume it is unavailable.
- Request a Section: If you find the course but no active sections are listed, you can request that a TI open a new section
- Course Search Request Form: If the course itself is missing from the network, fill out the Course Search Request Form in the platform. The Acadeum team will work to source that course from the network for you.
Next Steps
Once you have identified a course, you must ensure it is mapped to your internal catalog.
- I found one specific course: Follow our guide on Enrolling Students in Courses to map the substitute and submit the request
- I want to approve courses in bulk: Use the Course Equivalencies Management tool to review AI-generated matches for your entire catalog and make them available for student enrollment
