Student Portal is located in the Data Management & Integrations section of the Admin Center.
This feature was previously housed under Settings > Student Portal in Acadeum Course Share (ACS).
If you are unsure about your school’s use of the Acadeum Course Share Student Application, contact your Acadeum Account Representative.
ACS Student App Settings
The Student Portal page of the Admin Center has two sections: Scheduling and Pricing.
Scheduling
The Scheduling section provides Home Institution (HI) admin users with data on the number of course sections that have been approved to appear in their ACS student app. Divided into their respective terms and sessions, the numbers show how many course sections are currently available for their students to review and potentially to submit a registration request to the HI. These numbers will continue to evolve as more courses are vetted by the HI, approved to appear in the student app, and mapped to an HI course equivalent.
Pricing
The Pricing section reflects any pricing settings that have been established by HI admin users. HIs can establish a Universal pricing model for Acadeum courses here, and it can also set whether a price is visible to their students in the ACS student app.
In the image above, the HI chose NOT to display a price to its students. An HI may charge a student even if they choose not to display prices within their student app.
Click Edit (circled in pink above) to review and select from the various pricing models.
No Price Shown
If No Price Shown is selected, students will not see a course price in the ACS Student App. In the image below, the Student app Preview (outlined in purple) shows that no price is listed for students. Communicating course fees will be facilitated within your institution directly.
Students manage payment of courses directly with their Home Institution. Acadeum does not charge students; no student payment transactions occur within ACS.
Universal Pricing Model
Change the selection to Universal Pricing Model to set a price according to various pricing options.
Per the pink arrows below, a pricing option must be selected via the drop-down menu. Once selected, a markup amount is entered, and the Preview will reflect the price to be shown in the ACS student app.
Click Save to save the chosen options or Cancel to exit this page
Universal Pricing Options
- Fixed markup $ - Places a fixed dollar (USD) amount above what the Teaching Institution is charging your Home Institution for the course.
- Fixed markup % - Places a fixed percentage increase above what the Teaching Institution is charging your Home Institution for the course.
- Per credit hour rate - Places a fixed multiple dollar value on the course cost based on the number of credit hours.
- Pass-through cost - Shows the cost that the Teaching Institution is charging your Institution directly to students.
- Fixed price for all courses - Shows the same price for all courses regardless of credit hours or cost to your Home Institution.
Universal Pricing Model Example
- If the selected pricing model is Fixed markup % and Your markup is set as 20% (per the pink arrows below)
- Then, utilizing a Teaching Institution Price example of $600, the cost shown to students in the ACS student app would be $720, as shown in a purple circle within the preview below.
