Home Institutions typically prioritize course sharing within their existing consortia to ensure seamless financial aid coverage, GPA impact, and residency requirement compliance. This article helps HI Admins navigate the Consortia directory to identify partner members and understand the specific mission or governance of each group
Why Consortia Matter
Approving courses through a consortium often provides specific benefits for your students, including:
- Financial Aid: Courses are frequently covered under existing aid agreements
- GPA Impact: Grades from consortial partners often transfer back to impact the student's institutional GPA or replace failing grades
- Residency Requirements: Credits may count toward institutional residency
- Enrollment Status: These courses help establish or maintain full-time or part-time status
